He’s spent a bunch of money on it, he’s crashed it twice. He picked me up from MARTA once and I saved him from rear ending someone, that engine note is glorious thought.

Looks like pre-facelift tail lights, so CLK55? Could be anything, not exactly MB’s golden age. Or maybe he’s just detailing the engine.

Yep, 05 would be a CLK55. MBs of that era can have quirks.

Electrical issues of every kind, I think. There are some models and years of MBs I’d avoid unless very cheap - that’s one of them (I’ve been told the 03s are particularly iffy).

The neighbor across the street from friends of mine has an Audi A8. I have yet to be at their house (a few times a month) where the hood isn’t open, wheels are off, or the car is up on stands. It’s a running joke when they invite us over if the A8 is being worked on, otherwise we wouldn’t feel comfortable.

It’s a 55 all the engine, trans, and related electronics should be pretty good. It’s a convertible, so he should probably have the trunk open trying to figure out why the roof won’t open
